Maurizio Motta, was born on 19 May 1962 in Vergato (Bologna). At seven years’ old he began studying piano; at eleven he entered the newborn Schola Cantorum of Vergato as organist: he is today’s official organist, arranger and president of this choir. Accompanying the choir of Vergato has become a way to learn and appreciate the sacred music, maintaining nevertheless a vivid interest for other more modern musical genres. This led him - in 1982 - to record his first swing music disc, together with some friends and other musicians. He is member of SIAE [Italian Authors and Publishers Association], as both lyricist and composer.
In 2002 he also became ‘co-operating organist’ of the Dei Verbum Chorus, conducted by Maestro Giovanni Montanaro, with whom he is constantly engaged in the work out of several compositions for the choir and the piano.
