Roberto Carli was born in Bologna on 12 April 1957. He started studying music with Maestro Giorgio Bianchi and singing with Maestro Gastone Sarti; he got a diploma in theory and sol-fa at the G.Frescobaldi Conservatory in Ferrara. In 1996 he debuted at the Rosignano Solvay Theatre in Il Piccolo Spazzacamino by B.Britten, obtaining a positive feedback by both public and critics. Afterwards, he was Wogesang in L’impresario by W.A.Mozart and Monostato in Il Flauto Magico by W.A.Mozart at the Storchi Theatre in Modena. At the Romolo Valli Theatre in Reggio Emilia he was tenor in Manfred by R.A.Schumann, then played the role of Il Messo in Il Trovatore by G.Verdi at the Regio Theatre in Parma, of Guido Stozzi in Marin Faliero by G.Donizzetti, of the Giudice’s cover in Un Ballo in Maschera by G.Verdi. He was tenor in the Messa di Gloria by G.Puccini, Principe di Persia in Turandot, Le Remendado in Carmen and Principe Yamadori at the municipal Theatre in Modena, for the 2004 season.
His repertoire as concert artist includes lyric, popular and Neapolitan music. His last tour was with the orchestra of the Modena municipal Theatre in Lebanon.
He has been co-operating for several years with the Dei Verbum Chorus as solo tenor, in the various activities carried out by the choir.
